Pilot scheme at Beatrice Tate School

Guest post by ViviGo Cycling for All

Beatrice Tate is a special needs school in Tower Hamlets.

The school shares our belief that Cycling should be for All. They have a shed full of three wheelers that are used regularly.

However some of the students with more severe disabilities need a bit more help.

This spring, ViviGo has started a pilot of two weekly sessions taking students on our special wheelchair tricycles.

According to Physical Education teacher Alvaro Tienda, the response of the students has been remarkable: the feeling of smoothly gliding around the playground brings them joy and fun and their level of enjoyment is clearly visible.

The school has decided to expand the initiative in the new school year, offering the bike rides to more students and to take rides in the neighbouring park.

We look forward to it!
