The Royal Horticultural Society deploys 18 Christiania Bikes in five Gardens

From the RHS monthly magazine, The Garden

Visitors to all five gardens might see staff
pedalling past on one of 18 electric bikes, specially
adapted for garden use, that are replacing diesel fuelled all-terrain vehicles.

“They’ve got a large box on the front so staff
can ferry tools and up to 100kg of garden waste
around without belching out diesel fumes,” says
Malcolm Anderson, RHS Head of Sustainability.
“A few staff were a bit sceptical at first, but now
they race to get on one in the mornings.”
